Cindy advises clients on the international and domestic U.S. tax aspects of corporate mergers and acquisitions and other corporate transactions, joint ventures, investments in complex financial instruments and partnership taxation.
Cindy has over 25 years of experience in US and Canadian domestic and international taxation, including eight years with Deloitte Haskins & Sells and Deloitte & Touche LLP in Canada and the United States.
Cindy provides tax advice to a diverse group of clients. She advises a number of alternative investment fund clients, including domestic and offshore hedge funds and private equity funds. She also advises several large and midsized commercial clients on corporate and partnership tax planning and compliance matters, structuring, transaction support, tax due diligence and preparation and review of FAS 109 (accounting for income taxes) and ASC 740 (accounting for uncertainty in income taxes) calculations. Cindy works extensively with multinational companies on cross-border structuring, financing and tax compliance matters. Her international clients include small to mid-sized investment/hedge funds, global real estate developers and investors, regulatory consultants, captive insurance companies, film directors and producers and e-commerce developers and retailers.
